We're thrilled to share that Jayden Griego from Farmington High School has been granted a $1000 scholarship from 3M! Jayden has also been invited to join a special national scholarship event this spring, along with other talented recipients. This wonderful news was revealed during San Juan College's participation in the NC3 National Letter of Intent Signing on April 18, 2024. This event, organized by the National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3), is much like the NCAA's National Signing Day but for students pursuing technical careers. It's a time to honor students like Jayden who are entering technical fields and to recognize the value of their hard work. In the photo, you can see Yessenia Lopez, Jayden Griego, and Joshua Florez (Photo by W. Dean Howard Photography).

On Monday, April 15, 2024, our Elementary Math and English Language Arts (ELA) Teams had their final meeting of the year, where they celebrated their hard work and exchanged their top ideas. Throughout the year, these teams have been dedicated to improving teaching methods, focusing on better ways to keep track of students' progress and keep families informed about their learning journey. Now, they'll head back to their schools to kickstart a new phase, sharing insights from their colleagues and spreading their best practices within their school communities. A big thank you goes out to our educators and the Curriculum & Instruction Team for tackling this crucial mission.

In Mr. Torres's Foods class at Farmington High School we are cooking up some positively delicious meals! Thanks to an amazing grant from the New Mexico Beef Council, students are perfecting steak temperatures (as well as mastering mashed potato textures) in this lesson. This grant provided $1000 to fund beef education in the classroom and as a result the students can learn these valuable cooking skills on different cuts of steak! Thanks to Mr. Torres's guidance, these students have excellent collaborative skills and are always supporting each other in the kitchen. Awesome job, Scorps!

FMS Art Educators organized this absolutely stunning Elementary Art Gallery to showcase their students' fabulous talent! Families and friends were invited to walk through numerous different exhibits involving several different mediums. We loved seeing the expression of creativity through drawing, painting, ceramics, weaving, and so much more! A huge thank you to FMS staff for making this awesome event happen and an awesome job to all of our students proudly displaying their artwork!
