We’re excited to welcome you back to Farmington Municipal Schools for another amazing year! Below, you'll find everything you need to register a new student or complete registration for a returning student for the 2026-2027 school year. On the right side of this page, you’ll also find all the key information you need to help your child start the school year smoothly—from registration to important dates and helpful resources.

New to Farmington? If you’ve just moved to the wonderful City of Farmington—welcome! We’re glad you’re here. Below, you'll find everything you need to register a new student. Also, the links on the right side of this page will guide you through everything you need to know to get started and ensure your child receives the best education in San Juan County.

Important Note: We recommend using a desktop computer, laptop, or Chromebook for registration. Using a phone may cause technical issues and make the process more difficult.

 

Is Your Child a New or Returning Student?

Please use the information below to help determine whether you should register your child as a New Student or a Returning Student for the 2026–2027 school year.

New Student Registration

Please complete New Student Registration if:

  • Your child did not attend any Farmington Municipal School during the 25-26 school year.

Make sure you have the following information ready:

  • Your child's doctor’s name and contact info

  • Health insurance details

  • Student health history

  • Emergency contact names, addresses, and phone numbers

Once you complete the online registration, you should receive a confirmation email indicating that your submission was received.

Our school registrars will return on July 20. At that time, they will begin processing registrations and entering information into the system. If any additional documents are needed to complete your registration, a registrar will contact you directly. You’re also welcome to call the school starting July 23 to check on required documents or confirm any other details.

Returning Student Registration

Not Sure Which School Your Child Will Attend? School boundary maps for elementary, middle, and high schools are on the right side of this page. You can also call our District Transportation Office at (505) 599-8623 for assistance.

 

Current Year Registration (2025-26)

If you are new to our district and not currently enrolled in one of our FMS schools, you can register your child by following the link on the right. Please be aware that there are two links available, one for the current school year (2025-26) and one for the upcoming year (2026-27). Make sure you select the correct link; otherwise, you will be asked to fill out the registration form again.

Preschool Academies Enrollment

  • If your student turns 4 before August 31, 2026, please enroll at FPA West!

  • Peer student program openings for students who are at least three years old and students with IEPs will be served at FPA East.

  • If your child has an IEP and currently attends FPA East, s/he will automatically be enrolled for the 2026-2027 school year.

  • Proof of Residency (Utility Bill), Birth Certificate, and up-to-date Immunization Records
