We want to share some exciting news with our FMS community. Ms. Marletta Newman, who has been teaching music at Mesa View Middle School for 22 years, has received a special honor. She has been inducted into the New Mexico Music Educators Association Hall of Fame! At FMS, we value music because it helps our students and staff be more creative, and music plays a significant role in our school community. In the picture, you can see that Ms. Newman (front and center) was recognized by the FMS Board of Education during their September meeting with Superintendent Cody Diehl. Daniel Fear, our Coordinator of Fine Arts, had the honor of presenting this well-deserved recognition to Ms. Newman. Congratulations once again to Ms. Newman for this fantastic achievement!

They're going to start tearing down the old college buildings beginning tomorrow, August 9, 2023. Parking should be available in the lot behind the old buildings. FMS In The News: New Mexico approves 'Two Strikes' rule for upcoming high school athletic seasons. By Mike Smith, Carlsbad Current-Argus. The New Mexico Activities Association (NMAA) hopes a change to crowd control and bad conduct leads to continued good competitions among student-athletes and not canceled athletic seasons.
