Congratulations to Heights Middle School on earning 3rd Place at the 2026 NMAA State Choir Contest!

The Heights Troubadours delivered beautiful performances of “Inspirare Spirito” by John Fritz, the joyful “Dance Your Dance” by Jacob Narverud, and a stirring rendition of “Elijah Rock” by Victor C. Johnson. The music they made together was something truly special.
Congratulations to our students and to Music Director Ms. Siromani Leath for nurturing such extraordinary artistry. A shoutout as well to accompanist Ms. Kylene Aikele, whose musicianship helped bring every piece to life.

Also filling the hall with song on the first day of competition were our Hermosa Mata-do-re-mi Mixed Choir, who captivated audiences with “Antiphonal Kyrie” by Susan Thrift, the fiery “Fuégo” from Tres Canciones de los Elementos by Victor C. Johnson, and the enchanting traditional piece “Sesere Eeye” from the Torres Strait Islands, arranged by Mark O'Leary.
Congratulations to Music Director Ms. Virginia Weaver and accompanist Ms. Kaden Weisheit for their dedication and love of the craft.
First place went to St. Michael's Middle School, and second place to Eisenhower Middle School. Heights and Hermosa were two of 12 outstanding choirs that are bringing passion and talent to Cleveland High School in Rio Rancho this week.
