Burlington Stores, one of the nation's fastest-growing off-price retailers, is celebrating the grand opening of its new Farmington location at 3558 E. Main Street with a meaningful gift to the local community. In partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, a national nonprofit dedicated to empowering educators and students, Burlington is donating $5,000 to Animas Elementary School to help provide more learning materials and tools students need to thrive. The donation was formally presented during a ribbon-cutting ceremony today.
In February, an AdoptAClassroom.org representative worked directly with district and school administrators to secure the donation for Animas Elementary, where the funds will support 21 classrooms and 350 students with new supplies.

“On behalf of Farmington Municipal Schools, I want to extend a warm welcome to Burlington’s newest store here in Farmington, New Mexico,” said Animas Elementary Principal Trisha Bejar. “We are incredibly grateful for their generous donation through their partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, which goes directly to supporting our students. Our teachers are thrilled to have more resources to create meaningful learning experiences in their classrooms. It is truly wonderful to see a company not only invest in our community by setting up roots here, but also by giving back from the very start.”
Each time Burlington opens a new store, it marks the occasion by adopting and funding classrooms in the surrounding community. Through its ongoing partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org and a holistic approach to community giving, Burlington hopes to help empower those in their local store communities to live better lives and build brighter futures.

Present during today’s ceremony were Animas students, parents, staff, Community Partnership Liaison Amanda Wilder, Assistant Principal Samantha Nelson, Principal Trisha Bejar, and Superintendent Cody Diehl.
