FMS Board Recognizes Farmington High Band for Exceptional Season

At tonight’s regular meeting, the FMS Board of Education recognized the Farmington High School Scorpion Sound Regiment for an incredible marching season.

The Scorpion Sound Regiment recently made history with their performance at the 48th Annual Zia Marching Band Fiesta, held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at University Stadium in Albuquerque. Eighteen of New Mexico’s top marching bands performed in this all-day event, and for the first time in more than 40 years, Farmington High qualified to compete. The Scorpion Sound Regiment impressed both judges and audiences, ranking eighth.

Earlier in the season, the band also shined at the 44th Annual New Mexico Pageant of Bands. In September, the Scorpion Sound Regiment took home first place in their division, along with special honors for Outstanding Woodwinds, Outstanding Percussion, and Outstanding Drum Major in the 4A category.

Congratulations to our students, staff, and band director, Mr. Alexander Olivas, for your hard work and dedication this season.
