FMS, we bring you a quick introduction to one of our outstanding freshmen at Farmington High School, Ms. Reagan Yates.
Reagan is a dedicated track and field athlete whose passion for the sport shines through in her commitment to perfecting her skills in shot put and discus. When she’s not training or competing, Reagan devotes her time to serving at her church, where she supports younger girls as they navigate the challenges of adolescence. Her leadership, compassion, and willingness to listen are making a lasting difference in the lives of those she mentors.

Reagan is also taking initiative on campus by working to establish a Turning Point USA club at Farmington High. Her goal is to create a welcoming space where students can come together for thoughtful discussions about current events and civic engagement. This club will be one of more than 38 student groups and activities at Farmington High, offering students another opportunity to connect, learn, and grow.

Known for her kindness and strong work ethic, Reagan is always among the first to lend a helping hand, both on and off the field. Her peers and teammates see her as a role model whose example inspires others to do their best and care for those around them.
About Turning Point USA and Clubs/Activities Protocols
Turning Point USA is a nonprofit organization founded in 2012 that promotes conservative politics, civic engagement, and discussion around public policy and current events on school and college campuses.
The District is aware of the recent attention surrounding the organization following the tragic death of one of its founders, Charlie Kirk, and we also recognize the impact that gun violence has on families and communities across our state and nation.
As a District, we remain committed to providing safe spaces for dialogue, understanding, and learning. The District’s goal continues to be supporting our students' mental health and well-being while ensuring that every student feels seen, heard, and supported.
All student clubs and organizations at the District follow the protocols outlined in the Student-Parent Handbook and the Board of Education Policy for Student Conduct (J-2300). These safeguards help ensure that every club operates in a positive and respectful manner aligned with our District’s values.
About the FMS Inclusion Campaign
This feature continues the FMS Inclusion Campaign we launched on June 30 of this year, featuring the profiles and voices of all of our students.
Farmington Municipal Schools developed the message “You Belong at FMS” in 2025 to promote inclusion and ensure that every student feels welcomed and supported. The message is in English, Español, and Diné, our largest student populations. The campaign highlights FMS as a district that continues to be committed to providing a high-quality education in an environment that embraces all students. More than a slogan, it’s our story.
Featured in this campaign is Ms. Linsey Yazzie (Class of 2025), a student whose determination and ambition have already taken her far. On May 20, Linsey proudly crossed two significant milestones: earning her high school diploma and an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts. Her impressive achievement is the result of not only her hard work but also the unwavering support of her teachers, advisors, and family. You can read more about Linsey here.
