FMS Student-Athletes Step Up: Leadership Workshop with National Speaker Craig Hillier Inspires 130 Students

This morning, 130 of our FMS student-athletes had an exciting opportunity to step away from the field and court and focus on an equally important part of their growth: leadership.

They took part in a special workshop led by Craig Hillier, a nationally recognized motivational youth speaker, author, and former team captain. Bringing together athletes from different sports and grade levels created a powerful environment where students could learn not only from Mr. Hillier, but also from one another.

During the workshop, Mr. Hillier challenged our athletes to think about what it truly means to lead on the team, in the classroom, and in everyday life. He spoke about how success doesn’t just happen, but comes from discipline, teamwork, and the courage to push through challenges. He also reminded our students that leadership is not about being the loudest voice in the room, but about lifting others up, setting a good example, and being willing to learn from both successes and mistakes.

Since 1990, he has inspired more than two million people across the country with his high-energy, interactive presentations. Our students didn’t just listen to stories; they were up on their feet, taking part in activities that made the lessons come to life.

As a special bonus, each student received a copy of one of Mr. Hillier’s books, High School Sports Leader: Coaching Team Leaders and Captains to a Season of Significance.

This opportunity was made possible thanks to the FMS Athletics Department. A big thank you to our district leadership, our high school Athletic Directors, and our Student-Athletes for stepping up and making it happen.
