Piedra Vista Girls Golf team is once again the State Champion! Congratulations to Annie Yost for earning the Individual State Champion title for the second year in a row!
A special shout-out to Burke Allen, who finished an impressive 5th place, and senior Teresa Sanborn, who placed 4th individually in her final state competition. Way to go, Panthers!
It was a truly unforgettable week for Piedra Vista senior Annie Yost at the 5A State Golf Tournament. Even before the first round began, it was clear Annie was the one to watch—and she did not disappoint.
Annie, who will continue her golf career at Florida Gulf Coast University, led from start to finish. She opened the tournament on Monday with a strong 2-under-par 71, then followed it up with an incredible 7-under 66 on Tuesday. Her two-day total of 137 helped her defend her state title in impressive fashion.
Annie made nine birdies in her final round alone, including four in a row on holes 11 through 14, and capped it all off with one last birdie on the 18th hole to finish in style—sealing her second straight 5A state championship. She finished an impressive 12 shots ahead of the second-place competitor.
The Piedra Vista Girls Golf Team also brought home the 5A team title, finishing 12 strokes ahead of runner-up La Cueva.
Congratulations to Annie and the entire team on a remarkable achievement!
Farmington High had two participants in the championship, and both finished in the top 10. Congratulations to Conner Neff for finishing 6th and Olivia Silentman for placing 9th. What an outstanding achievement—way to represent, Scorpions!
