Senior Recognition Banquet Honors Our Native American Graduates

We hope all of our students and their families had a wonderful time at tonight’s Senior Recognition Banquet! It was a beautiful evening to celebrate the achievements of our Native American students from Farmington High, Piedra Vista, Rocinante, and San Juan College High.

A huge thank you to our Native American Programs Department for putting together such a thoughtful and heartfelt program. Their hard work truly shined through every detail of the evening.

We were honored to hear from Mr. Lydell Rafael, Ms. Janice Montoya, Dr. Denny, and Superintendent Cody Diehl, who each shared meaningful messages with our students and their families.

Our keynote speaker, Ms. Analyss Benally, inspired everyone with her powerful story. From playing basketball in Wichita, Kansas, to competing at San Jose State University (NCAA Division I), and even starring in the Netflix film REZBALL, she encouraged our students to embrace life’s challenges and grow stronger through them.

The evening also included a special musical performance by well-known Navajo musician Levi Platero. Guests enjoyed a delicious meal featuring Three Sisters Stew, Blue Corn Tortillas, Fry Bread, Vanilla Ice Cream with Berry Compote, and Strawberry Navajo Tea.

One of the most special moments of the night was when our honored students received their Pendleton stoles—beautifully embroidered with their school logos. These stoles represent academic excellence and are awarded to students who have maintained a GPA of 3.7 or higher. We look forward to seeing them proudly worn at graduation!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this memorable celebration!
