Celebrating Black History Month

FMS, we are celebrating Black History Month from February 1 to March 1, including offering our first-ever full Soul Food Meal on February 22. On that special day, we'll be serving up delicious BBQ chicken drumsticks, Hoppin’ John, smothered cabbage, cornbread, and your choice of banana pudding or fruit for dessert.

Black History Month is a time when we celebrate the amazing achievements of African Americans and recognize their important role in U.S. history. Did you know that the story of Black History Month dates back to 1915, fifty years after slavery was abolished in the United States? You can learn more about it here.

Throughout the entire month, FMS will be shining a spotlight on black chefs who have made a huge impact on the world of cooking and have contributed to many of the tasty foods we love today! Let's celebrate together!
