Farmington Students Forge Futures in Welding Program

This week, the district is spotlighting its Welding Program at the CATE Center, led by instructor Anna Wilson. The program has become a place where many students feel at home while learning valuable skills that prepare them for the workforce. Beyond the classroom, students are stepping up as leaders by competing in SkillsUSA events, where they refine their craft and connect with professionals in the industry.

Among these students is Rodrigo Lopez, who discovered his passion for welding through the CTE pathways offered at the CATE Center. Now, he plans to graduate with a welding certification and has already established ties with local businesses to secure employment after high school.

With innovative projects on the horizon, FMS plans to showcase more of the incredible work coming from its Welding Program. A major student-led project will be unveiled next week, offering a glimpse into the creativity and dedication that define CTE in Farmington.
