FMS Students Shine at Mock Interview Event, Ready to Begin Internships Monday

Today, 96 FMS high school students took part in our much-anticipated Mock Interview Event, hosted by the FMS Career & Tech Education and Work-Based Learning team. Thanks to their hard work and preparation, our students are ready to begin earning high school credits at their internships as early as Monday!

In the days leading up to today, these future professionals participated in a Work-Based Learning Boot Camp, a hands-on experience where they learned everything from how to land a job to how to succeed once they’re hired. They worked on polishing their résumés, practiced answering interview questions, and built the confidence needed to shine in front of employers.

Watching them walk into their interviews with professionalism and poise showed just how much they’ve grown. The skills they practiced—communication, teamwork, and problem-solving—are the same ones that will serve them in both their internships and their future careers.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the 25 local businesses that volunteered their time to interview students and provide meaningful internship opportunities. We’re also grateful to Board Secretary Andra Stradling and Board Deputy Secretary Lisa Lynn Maxwell for their support and for joining in the interviews.
