Water Safety Guidance

The safety of our students in, on, and around bodies of water is a top priority. This guidance is provided to help families promote safe behaviors and prevent water-related accidents.

Key Safety Tips for Students and Families:

  • Always swim with a buddy and under adult supervision.

  • Learn to swim through age-appropriate lessons offered by qualified instructors.

  • Wear properly fitting life jackets when near open water or boating.

  • Avoid running or horseplay near pools, lakes, or other water areas.

  • Be aware of local water conditions, including currents and weather.

  • Never dive into unfamiliar or shallow water.

Swimming Lessons and Water Safety Programs:

Local options for age-appropriate swimming lessons and water safety courses are available. Families are encouraged to explore these programs to build essential water skills and confidence. For more information on community resources for swimming lessons and water safety, please contact the City of Farmington.
