06/10/2025: Board of Education Recap

During today’s Board of Education meeting, members received a detailed update on the many safety and security improvements made across Farmington Municipal Schools over the past three years. The district remains committed to creating a safe and secure learning environment for all students and staff.

Safety and Security Supervisor Dale Bode shared key highlights, including:

  • A new visitor check-in system and secure entry vestibules.

  • Stronger perimeter fencing around campuses.

  • Upgraded automated school zones to improve traffic safety.

  • Expansion of security cameras from 250 to 650, now connected with Farmington Police’s Real-Time Crime Center and San Juan County Dispatch.

  • Ongoing emergency drills for students, teachers, and administrators.

  • Reunification and emergency response teams.

  • On-campus security monitors, both armed and unarmed, to provide a visible safety presence.

FMS Budget Update
