During today’s Board of Education meeting, members received a detailed update on the many safety and security improvements made across Farmington Municipal Schools over the past three years. The district remains committed to creating a safe and secure learning environment for all students and staff.
Safety and Security Supervisor Dale Bode shared key highlights, including:
A new visitor check-in system and secure entry vestibules.
Stronger perimeter fencing around campuses.
Upgraded automated school zones to improve traffic safety.
Expansion of security cameras from 250 to 650, now connected with Farmington Police’s Real-Time Crime Center and San Juan County Dispatch.
Ongoing emergency drills for students, teachers, and administrators.
Reunification and emergency response teams.
On-campus security monitors, both armed and unarmed, to provide a visible safety presence.
FMS Budget Update
