FMS families, the 2024-2025 Academic Calendar has been approved. Here are some key dates for you to remember:
Start of School:
Teachers will be back on August 5-6 to prepare for the school year.
Kindergarten, 6th, and 9th graders will start classes on August 7.
All other grades will begin school on August 8.
Next year, there won't be early release days on Mondays, there will be five full days dedicated to teachers' professional development, as well as a holiday on November 5, as required by law.
Please note a change in our procedures regarding weather delays: Classes will no longer be canceled on Mondays if there's a delay. More information can be found on our Weather Delays and Closures page here.
New School Hours:
Starting next year, school will finish a bit earlier than before.
Preschool Academies times will remain from 8:00 to 2:30 p.m.
For Elementary School kids, classes will run from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Middle Schoolers will start at 8:30 a.m. and finish at 3:15 p.m.
High School students will have classes from 8:00 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.

Piedra Vista High School: May 19, 2025
Farmington High School: May 20, 2025
Rocinante High School: May 21, 2025
Possible Changes to the Calendar:
Our 2024-2025 Academic Year would have to be adjusted if there are updates from the NM Department of Education.
School Supplies Reminder:
Please note that Farmington Municipal Schools will be reallocating funds next year, and as a result, we will not be providing school supplies in 2024. Supply lists will come from your schools.
