March 1-7, 2026, marks National School Social Work Week, an opportunity for Farmington Municipal Schools to recognize and celebrate the essential role school social workers play in supporting students, families, and school communities. The 2026 theme, “Unite to Ignite: Celebrating Our Impact,” honors the collective strength, dedication, and passion of school social workers nationwide. Throughout the school year, school social workers navigate complex challenges and rising student needs with resilience and compassion. By uniting students, families, educators, and communities, they ignite positive change and help create supportive environments where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This week, we celebrate them as a part of National School Counseling Week 2026. FMS school counselors help students in more ways than you may know. School counselors design and deliver school counseling programs that improve life-readiness and academic success. They lead, advocate, and collaborate to promote success for each and every student by connecting their school counseling program to the school’s academic mission and school improvement plan.
