2026 State Seal of Bilingualism and Biliteracy Recipients:

The Farmington Municipal Schools (FMS) Multicultural Department announced Tuesday that 28 students from across the district will receive the New Mexico State Seal of Bilingualism and Biliteracy for 2026. Recipients represent Farmington High School, Piedra Vista High School, and San Juan College High School.

The State Seal of Bilingualism and Biliteracy is a prestigious recognition awarded to students who demonstrate proficiency in two or more languages. Among this year's honorees, 27 students earned the seal in Spanish and one – Amber Bizardie of San Juan College High School – earned the seal in Diné (Navajo) at the Superior Level.

Last year, FMS students earned 34 seals in total, 32 in Spanish, one in Chinese, and one in Diné.

2026 State Seal of Bilingualism and Biliteracy Recipients:

From Farmington High School: Sarai Avina-Hortelano, Cecelia Clark, Arianna Escalante, Bryan Frias Serrano, Emanuel Herrera, Carlos Palma, and Thalia Vega Trucios.

From Piedra Vista High School: Johanna Acosta, Enrique Dominguez, Esmeralda Espino, Millet Frias, Alyssa Gomez-Ferraez, Heidi Grimes, Samanda Izelo-Aca, Jasmine Jaquez, Vivian Mora, Adriana Perez, Milca Ramos, Anyelinna Sigala Tapia, Jovana Vasquez, Cailaigh Yazzie-Hernandez, and Brianna Zamarron.

From San Juan College High School: Millie Delgado, Abril Gutierrez, Emilio Orozco, Sophia Palacios, Liliana Vega-Lopez, and Amber Bizardie (Navajo).
