FMS Receives National Recognition for Music Education Support

Farmington Municipal Schools (FMS) has once again been named one of the Best Communities for Music Education by The NAMM Foundation, marking the 9th consecutive year our district has earned this national honor!

This award recognizes school districts across the country that go above and beyond to provide music education for all students. From introducing music in elementary school to supporting award-winning high school programs, FMS continues to foster a strong foundation for music learning and student creativity.

“This award shines a light on the amazing work our music teachers do every day,” said Daniel Fear, Fine Arts Coordinator. “From introducing music in kindergarten to helping students compete at the state level, our programs are helping students find their passion and talent, and excel in all academic areas.”

To receive this award, FMS submitted detailed information about our music program, including student participation, facilities, instruction time, and community support. The information was reviewed by school officials and verified by the independent arts research firm WolfBrown.

The NAMM Foundation is the charitable arm of the National Association of Music Merchants, a global trade group for the music products industry.
