FMS Expands Edia Attendance Alerts to All Schools

Dear FMS Families,

Starting this month, Farmington Municipal Schools will be expanding the use of Edia Learning, a new communication platform, to all schools across the district. We began using Edia in a few schools back in October 2024, and based on its success, we’re now rolling it out district-wide.

What is Edia, and how will it help?

Edia is a simple, quick, and user-friendly tool that helps schools and families stay on the same page when it comes to student attendance. It allows us to:

  • Communicate more efficiently about absences

  • Address chronic absenteeism early

  • Understand and solve the root causes of frequent absences

How does it work?

If your child is absent, you’ll receive a text message within minutes.

You can reply directly to the message to let the school know the reason for the absence.

You’ll even be able to excuse absences through text, and school records will update automatically.

Need to send a doctor’s note or other documents? Just text a photo. It’s that easy!

Preparing for the School Year

This week, our schools worked with Edia representatives to set up their accounts and learn how to get the most out of the platform. One important takeaway: keeping your contact information current is essential to making sure communication flows smoothly.

We’re proud to be partnering with Edia Learning to bring this helpful AI-powered attendance assistant to every school. Our goal is to make attendance tracking easier, more accurate, and more connected.

Thank you for being an important part of your child’s education.

The first day of school for all FMS students is August 7, 2025. We can't wait to see you!
