Armed Campus Safety Monitors Sworn In, Assigned to Middle Schools

Today, we welcomed two new Armed Campus Safety Monitors to our FMS Safety Team. Mr. James Smith and Ms. Melvina Cox were officially sworn in by Farmington Police Chief Steve Hebbe.

Mr. James Smith will join Hermosa Middle School in his new capacity, where he has been a valued member of the team since 2020. He is a retired officer from the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office, with 20 years of service.

Ms. Melvina Cox brings a wealth of experience as a former Farmington Jail officer and a former Farmington Police Department officer, with a combined 10 years of law enforcement service. She will be joining Tibbetts Middle School.
