Farmington Municipal Schools Opens New Preschool Academy

Today, Farmington Municipal Schools (FMS) celebrated the opening of the Farmington Preschool Academy. This new 51,900-square-foot facility expands access to early childhood education and becomes the largest preschool facility in New Mexico.

FMS Celebrates 23 Chief Manuelito Scholarship Recipients

Congratulations to the FMS students who were awarded the 2026 Chief Manuelito Scholarship this past weekend in Flagstaff, Arizona! Of the 183 students statewide who earned the scholarship this year, 23 are outstanding Farmington Municipal Schools students.

Bilingual Programs

FMS Bilingual Multicultural Education Program provides support and resources for all students to become bilingual and biliterate in English and a second language, following rules and regulations as per the New Mexico State Bilingual Multicultural Education Act, Chapter 22, Article 23 NMSA.

FMS offers BME services in Spanish and Navajo languages while emphasizing the history and cultures associated with the students' home or heritage language. The district bilingual teachers are specialized in elementary or secondary education and have received specialized training in bilingual education, holding a Bilingual endorsement.
