Farmington Municipal Schools Opens New Preschool Academy

Today, Farmington Municipal Schools (FMS) celebrated the opening of the Farmington Preschool Academy. This new 51,900-square-foot facility expands access to early childhood education and becomes the largest preschool facility in New Mexico.

FMS Celebrates 23 Chief Manuelito Scholarship Recipients

Congratulations to the FMS students who were awarded the 2026 Chief Manuelito Scholarship this past weekend in Flagstaff, Arizona! Of the 183 students statewide who earned the scholarship this year, 23 are outstanding Farmington Municipal Schools students.

An FMS graduate is “Prepared 4 Tomorrow”- Equipped with the academic knowledge, real-world skills, and personal attributes needed to thrive in college, career, and life. They are confident learners with clear goals and the perseverance to achieve them. They communicate effectively, collaborate with others, and demonstrate emotional intelligence in diverse settings. FMS graduates understand the value of community, act with integrity, and contribute meaningfully to the world around them. They think critically, embrace challenges with creativity, and apply innovative solutions to real-world problems. Rooted in a strong educational foundation and supported by caring adults and community partnerships, FMS graduates are ready to lead, serve, and succeed

WHAT IS A GRADUATE PROFILE?​

The FMS graduate profile articulates a vision for the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that students need to attain to be successful after graduation.  This Graduate profile was created through various community focus groups and surveys to engage our local community in the profile development. The FMS Graduate Profile is used as a tool or guide to “plan with the end in mind” to ensure that school and district efforts contribute to the vision for student success and work to create relevant learning experiences that prepare our students for an ever-changing world.
